Driekie van Wyk is a Cape Town based artist and her creativity and artistic abilities was evident from a very young age. At the age of 14 she was commissioned to do illustrations for her local school newspaper on a regular basis.
This passion for art has grown over the years with various paintings and drawings. After a recent traumatic experience of losing a baby, her artistic ability excelled & increased literally overnight. She transitioned into Contemporary art in 2015 with her first oil on canvas work and has never looked back since. Her work is currently featured at the Absolut Art Gallery in Stellenbosch. She is a mother of 2 and a completely self-taught artist. Her passion is portraits as human facial expressions is something that intrigues and fascinates her.
