Helene Lowry (Eleni Vassilatos), born in Zambia, lived in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe until she moved to South Africa to study Fine Art at Technicon Pretoria from 1978-1980.  Her artistic path has led her to teaching both children and adults. She works primarily in acrylics, as well as oils. Her first choices in subject matter are landscapes. Since childhood she has been in awe of the wonder of nature and God’s creation. Art has become a tangible expression of her passion for life and people and she strives to be a blessing to others and change lives through giving art classes and love experiencing the transformation art brings to a person’s life. It’s like planting a seed and viewing the growth process through a magnifying glass. She has a natural feel for combining vibrant colours yet keeping a natural authentic feel to the painting.
